Engebretson, Walton C. (5 JUN 1904 – 10 NOV 1971)
WITHEE – Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Hoeper-Kraut Funeral
Home at Owen for Walton C. Engebretson, 67, Withee (Clark Co., Wis.), who died
Wednesday at 10 p.m. at the Veteran's Hospital in Ft. Snelling, Minn. Death was
doe to a heart condition.
The Rev. Lester Kringel, pastor of the Missionary Alliance Church, Owen, will
officiate, and burial will be made in Riverside Cemetery here.
Visitations may be made at the funeral home beginning today.
Mr. Engebretson, a single man, was born June 5, 1901 at Chippewa Falls, and came
to the Withee area as a small child and received his education here.
He served in the U.S. Army in World War II, and had been employed at the Canning
Company and Master Package Corporation in Owen.
Survivors include a brother, Floyd Engebretson, Milwaukee; six sisters, Mrs.
Robert (Irma) Hines, Ray, Minn.; Mrs. Mike (Ada) Christopher, Milwaukee; Mrs.
Adele Jackson, Withee; Mrs. Alex (Alice) Doucette, Two Rivers; and Mrs. John
(Merle) Franko, and Mrs. William (Eileen) Smith, both of Long Beach, California;
and 26 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sisters.
Military graveside rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post of Owen.
