Thompson, Bernice “Honey” G. (23 July 1929 – 3 September 2017)
Bernice “Honey” G. Thompson, 88, of Lindsey, passed away Sunday, Sept. 3, 2017,
at Three Oaks in Marshfield.
Bernice was born July 23, 1929, the daugher of Howard and Anne (Kren) Strebing,
on the family farm in Neillsville. She graduated from Neillsville High School in
1947. On June 2, 1947, Bernice was united in marriage to the love of her life,
Richard Thompson in Neillsville.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Marshfield. In her spare time,
she enjoyed gardening, cooking, and baking. She especially enjoyed raising her
children and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Those
that knew Bernice best will miss her warm smile, her generosity, and her love of
flowers.
Bernice is lovingly survived by her children Mary (William) Kastern, Connie
(Ronald) Bredemann, Daniel Thompson, Peter Thompson, Richard Thompson, Jr.,
Melvin (Ruth) Thompson, and Amy Bolz; 19 grandchildren, and many great-and
great-great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her siblings, Arthur
(Doris) Strebing of Henderson, NV, Betty (Oliver) Hall of Marshfield, Howard
Strebing, Jr. of Tucson, AZ, and Shelly (Bill) Scott of Calhan, CO. She is
further survived by many other relatives and friends. She will truly be missed.
Bernice is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, as well as two
children Kathie Williams and Samuel Thompson, and a sister Annette Strebing in
infancy.
The family would like to thank the staff at Marshfield Medical Facility, Three
Oaks Nursing Care, and Ministry Home Health Care for their care and compassion.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, 2017, at Trinity
Lutheran Church (9529 State Rd 80) in Marshfield. Visitation will be held at the
church from 9 a.m. until the time of the service Saturday. Burial will take
place at the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Marshfield.
