Olson, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence P. (Golden - 1974)
Over 200 friends and relatives of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence P. Olson gathered at the
Assembly of God Church in Black River Falls Sunday afternoon to help the couple
celebrate their golden wedding anniversary.
Their three sons, Donald and Family of Whittier, Ca., Duane and family of
Oconomowoc, and Dale R. Olson and family of Hatfield were all present for the
event.
Many more friends and relatives from near and far were among those in
attendance, including Mr. and Mrs. Robert Flood and Mr. and Mrs. Dan Valhovic of
California, who were enroute to “Kenya, East Africa,” to visit their brother,
Raymond, and his family, who are serving in missionary work there.
A program in the afternoon included the following presentations: “The Longer I
Serve Him,” a solo by Ellen Flood; “The Old Rugged Cross,” solo played on his
musical saw by the Rev. Elzo Wilcox; song by the Olson grandchildren; trumpet
solo by James Johnson; “If That Isn’t Love,” song by Mr. and Mrs. Robert Flood
and Mr. and Mrs. Dan Valhovic; duet by Pastor and Mrs. Gorden Johnson; “Surely
Goodness and Mercy,” solo by Ellen Flood.
Rev. Johnson was master of ceremonies for the program. Refreshments were served
afterwards.
Thirty-six guests attended an evening dinner party at the Rustic Mill, where a
humorous skit was presented.
Mr. and Mrs. Olson lived in Humbird for 20 years before moving to Milwaukee.
While in Humbird, he was in the garage business, and later was employed at the
Humbird Canning Company.
They moved to Milwaukee in 1853, then moved to Black River Falls in September of
1966 following their retirement.

Held, Barbie and Steven, Menomonee Falls; Mr. and Mrs. Roy Jerome, Mr. and Mrs.
Donald Jerome and children, and Mrs. Thurlo Amborn, Mindoro;
Mr. and Mrs. Matt Tietze, Brookfield; Mr. and Mrs. Bob Teeples, Wausau; Mr. and
Mrs. Howell Stuve, Owen; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Kustling, Loyal; Mr. and Mrs. Ronald
Serves, La Crescent, Mn; Mr. and Mrs. John Abbott, Mrs. Lloyd Manke, and Mr. and
Mrs. Lawrence Isensee, Sr., Sparta; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Klushman, Milwaukee; Mrs.
Clarence Reshel, City Point; Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Flood, Mr. and Mrs. Angus
Flood, Mr. and Mrs. Larry Flood, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Laffe, Mr. and Mrs. Daniel

Friends and relatives from the Merrillan, Hatfield, Hixton, Millston,
Wrightsville, and Black River Falls areas were also in attendance.
