Kingsbury, Mary (Marriage – 20 July 1974)
Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Kingsbury, Rt. 1 Neillsville, presented their daughter,
Mary in marriage to Steven Preston on Saturday, July 20, at St. Mary’s Catholic
Church, Neillsville. The Rev. Joseph Henseler officiated at the 11 a.m.
ceremony, which was followed by a reception in the parish hall.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Preston, Redgranite.
The former Miss Kingsbury appeared in a gown of white satin with embroidered
eyelet lace accenting the collar and sleeves. Her fingertip veil was held by a
headpiece of daisies and stephanotis. Identical flowers formed her bridal
bouquet.
Maid of Honor Barbara Kingsbury and bridesmaid Connie Foster, Oshkosh, were
attired in light pink and blue smocked top gowns with white lace collars. Their
flowers were daisies, blue strawflowers, and pink carnations.
Attending the groom were Albert Johnson, Redgranite, and Steve Kingsbury
Milwaukee. Tom Kingsbury of Romulos, N.Y., and Matthew Kingsbury acted as
ushers.
Mrs. Glen Short was the organist, and Joan Walters, the soloist.
The bride is a 1971 graduate of Patricia Stevens career college, Milwaukee. Her
husband graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in January of 1973
with a major in music. Upon their return from a wedding trip to the southern
states, they will live in Alma where he is band director at the high school.
