Welch, Wendy Jean (Marriage – 20 July 1974)
Mr. and Mrs. Robert L. Martin, who were married July 20 in ceremonies performed
at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church, Chili, by the Rev. Robert Houston, are making
their home on Rt. 1 Chili.
The new Mrs. Martin is the former Miss Wendy Jean Welch, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Gerald Welch of Chili. Her husband is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert
Martin, also of Chili.
The former Miss Welch designed her princess-style bridal gown of white satin
trimmed with daisy medallion lace. The gown was made by her mother, who also
fashioned the attendants’ dresses.
Kathy Welch, Chili, was the bride’s honor attendant. Mary Helen Koeberl,
Janesville, was the bridesmaid. Their gowns of yellow double-knit were styled
similarly to the bride’s.
The groom was attended by Lavern Roehl as best man, and by John Martin as
groomsman. Ushers were Jerry Martin and Gary Welch. All are from Chili.
Mrs. Francis Steiner was the organist.
A reception at the Wildcat Inn, was followed by a dance at the Chili Corners
club.
The bride is a 1973 graduate of Marshfield Senior High School, and is employed
at the Marshfield Convalescent Center. Her husband graduated from Granton High
School in 1967 and is engaged in farming.
