Matson, Lillian F. (29 NOV 1930 – 11 SEP 2017)
Lillian F. Matson, age 86, of Owen, passed away on Monday, September 11, 2017 at
the Clark County Rehab and Living Center in Owen under the tender care of
hospice.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, September 15, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at
Nazareth Lutheran Church in Withee. Reverend Brian Campbell will officiate.
Interment to follow in the church cemetery. Family and friends are welcome from
9:30 a.m. until time of service on Friday at the church for visitation.
Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Owen is entrusted with the arrangements
Lillian was born on November 29, 1930 in the Township of Holway, the daughter of
Fred and Katherine (Thormahlen) Matson. She was educated at Forest Grove School
in the Town of Holway. Lillian was a life-time member of Nazareth Lutheran
Church in Withee. She lived on the family farm until the death of her parents,
when she moved to the trailer court in Withee. Lillian lived there until
entering the Health Care Center in Owen in 2013.
Lillian worked for many years in area restaurants; Bauer's Cafe in Medford, the
Thorpedo in Thorp, Mr. B's and Abby Cafe in Abbotsford. She also cleaned houses
for families in Owen and Withee.
Lillian is survived by her sister, Anna Tauchen of Curtiss and a sister-in-law,
Betty Matson of Greenwood. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews,
other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Harold; four sisters,
Frieda (Russell) Dearth, Amelia (Raymond) Dearth, Hilda (Elmer) Dearth and
Katherine (Harvey) Dearth and a brother-in-law, Rudolph Tauchen.
