Schultz, Albert E. (17 SEP 1942 – 4 SEP 2017)
Albert E. Schultz, Age 74, of Rice Lake, WI, died Monday, September 4, 2017 at
the Lakeview Medical Center in Rice Lake.
He was born on September 17, 1942 in Curtiss, WI to Albert and Elvera (Laabs)
Schultz. Al graduated from the Dorchester High School, received a Bachelor
Degree in Agriculture from UW River Falls and then received his Master's Degree
in Education from UW Stout. Al taught Agriculture for a year in Independence, WI
and in Thorp, WI for 3 years and was also involved in FFA. He worked for Geigy
Chemical Company for a year in the fall of 1969 and then he started with WITC in
Administration until his retirement in 2000.
Al owned and operated Schultz Taxidermy out of his home for over 40 years. He
was involved in the Lion's Club since 1970, Barron County Woodland Owners and on
the Board of Trustees at First Lutheran Church in Rice Lake. He grew up on a
dairy farm and loved to hunt, fish and show cattle. Al played baseball during
High School until his early 20's.
He is survived by his wife, Bunee Schultz of Rice Lake; 2 daughters and
sons-in-law, Dawn (Jeff) of Prior Lake, MN and Tami (Craig) of Shakopee, MN; 4
grandchildren, Abigail, Paul, Benjamin and Kelly; a brother, Leroy Schultz
(Carolyn) of Arbor Vitae, WI; 3 nephews and 3 nieces; and cousins. He was
preceded in death by a son, Chad Michael; daughter, Candy Renee; and his
parents, Albert and El Vera Schultz.
Funeral Services were held on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at First Lutheran
Church in Rice Lake. Rev. Jerry Bernecker officiated, with interment in the
Dorchester Memorial Cemetery in Dorchester, WI. Visitation was held Friday at
Appleyard's Home for Funerals in Rice Lake and prior to the Funeral Service at
the Church Saturday.
In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to the Wisconsin Lions Camp,
3834 County Road A, Rosholt, WI 54473.
