Family and friends were invited to gather on Tuesday at the church from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. and again at the church on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the time of service.

Anita was born at home in the township of Frankfort on Sept. 1, 1933, the daughter of Otto and Anna (Potz) Mielke. She graduated from Colby High School. Anita was united in marriage to Wendell Bauman on June 13, 1953, at Zion Lutheran Church in Colby, and he survives. Anita and Wendell resided in rural Edgar where they raised their five children.

Anita was a wonderful homemaker and enjoyed working at her husband’s side on their family farm. She enjoyed gardening, baking and sewing. Many enjoyable hours were spent attending her grandchildren’s sporting events and any other activities that they had going on. Listening to polka music and watching the Badgers, the Brewers and the Packers was another of her favorite pastimes. She and Wendell enjoyed traveling to many destinations with tour groups to places such as Germany, Alaska, the Caribbean and touring Wisconsin on the weekends. She looked forward to spending time at the family cottage on Long Lake and playing cards with her friends. Anita was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, Edgar, and served many different roles at church throughout the years.

She will be greatly missed by her husband of 64 years, Wendell; her five children, Linda (Alan) Bergmann of Mosinee, Terrance Bauman of Edgar, Jayne (Cal) Tackes of Edgar, Clark (Lisa) Bauman of Edgar and David (Debra) Bauman of Edgar; her two sisters, Alvina Giese of Stratford and Evelyn (Bernell) Waldinger of Tomahawk; her half-sister, Betty Boehm of Waukesha; and her sister-in-law, Elaine Mielke of Stratford. Anita is further survived by her ten grandchildren, Deidre (Brett) Yirkovsky, Ryan (Sarah) Tackes, Elisha (Branden) Stefanski, Dana (Keith) Reagan, Matthew (Katie) Bauman, Jenna (Luke) Knoedler, Dustin (Courtney) Bauman, Jordan Bauman, Samuel Bauman and Ella Bauman; and her 12 great-grandchildren, Elliot, Jayden, Connor, Charlie, Madyson, Bo, Wendell, Vivienne, Theodore, Anita, Max and Rowyn.

Anita was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Anna Mielke; her brother, Albert Mielke; her brother-in-law, William Giese; and her half brother-in-law, Francis Boehn.

Her arrangements are under the care of Life Tributes Funeral Home, Spencer.
