Rothmeier, Marjorie “Marge” K. (Hoffman) (19 DEC 1943 - 5 SEP 2017)

Marjorie “Marge” K. Rothmeier, age 73, of Medford, passed away on Tues., Sept. 5, 2017 at her residence in the City of Medford under the loving care of her family and Hope Hospice.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 8 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Medford with Father Phil Juza officiating. Visitation will be held at Hemer Funeral Home in Medford from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 7, where there will be a 7 p.m. Catholic Rosary service held that evening. Visitation will also be at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. Interment of her cremated remains will take place at Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery at a later date.

Marge was born on Dec. 19, 1943 in Medford to the late Helen (Pohle) and Earl Hoffman. She attended Holy Rosary Elementary School and Medford High School. On May 28, 1960 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Medford, she married Alfred “Hobby” M. Rothmeier and he survives.

Marge worked most of her life as a housewife and mother. She also worked for many years at her family’s business, Hoffman’s Ben Franklin in downtown Medford. In 1993 she opened Westside Garden Nursery in Medford which she owned and operated for many years until her retirement. She enjoyed gardening, traveling and weekly trips with the domino girls. Her faith was very important to her and her passion was her family.

She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Medford and the Catholic Order of Foresters.

In addition to her husband, Marge is survived by her children, Jon (Angie) Rothmeier of Medford and Paul Rothmeier of Medford; seven grandchildren, Rebecca (Lugo) (Lucas) Kraschnewski of Green Bay, Mark Lugo of Medford, Jared Rothmeier of Wausau, Andrew, Hope, Paxton and Raylin Rothmeier all of Medford; two great-grandchildren, Shaelyn and Daxton Kraschnewski of Green Bay; brothers and sisters, Joan (Al) Clark of Prescott, Gail (Richard) Kestler and Jim (Linda) Hoffman, all of Medford. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Marge was preceded in death by her children, Mark and Kathleen Rothmeier and Lisa Lugo; brothers, Dick and Wayne Hoffman; brothers and sisters-in-law, Pete Rothmeier, Evelyn "Mickey" Nelson, Loretta "Dolly" Leinwander, Bernie and Pearl Rothmeier.

Memorial contributions should be given to either Hope Hospice of Medford or Holy Rosary Church and School of Medford.
