Bobb, Mr./Mrs. Arthur (60th – 8 MAR 1970)
Over 200 friends and relatives helped Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Bobb celebrate their
60th wedding anniversary at their home on March 8, 1970 with open house from 2
until 5 p.m. Mr. and Mrs. Bobb were both born in Richland County, Wisconsin. His
family came to Clark County in 1892 and her family moved here in 1900.
Mr. and Mrs. Bobb, their children and grandchildren all attended the rural Colby
School. The children and grandchildren were all graduates of Thorp High School.
Mrs. Arthur Bobb was a graduate of the Richland County Normal Training School in
Richland Center. Mr. Bobb was a cheesemaker. Mr. and Mrs. Bobb raised 5
children, 3 of them living, and 1 daughter and son Kenneth are deceased. They
also have 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Three of their daughters
were nurses and one took a course in Home Economics at the Wisconsin State
University at Madison. Kenneth went into partnership with his father.
The Bobb children and their grandchildren were all 4-H club members.
The Bobb families were all active in church, school, town and county affairs.
Mrs. Arthur Bobb and Mrs. Kenneth Bobb were charter members of the Sterling
Homemakers Club. They are members of the United Church of Christ in Owen.
