Woitas, Glenda (31 May 1939 – 29 September 2017)
Glenda (Wick) Woitas, 78, of Neillsville, passed peacefully on Friday, September
29, at Marshfield Health System after a recent illness.
Glenda Wick was born in Ada, MN, on May 31, 1939, to Selmer and Hulda Wick; she
graduated from Ada High School in 1957. Glenda was married to Will Cichy, and
later David Woitas, until the time of his passing.
Glenda lived in St. Paul for 24 years, moved to Neillsville in 2004 and resided
there until her most recent illness. Glenda loved her perennial gardens, baking,
and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Glenda was preceded in death by her husband David, her parents, a sister Roberta
Wick, and a brother Richard Wick.
She is survived, by two sisters Colene Rose and Sandra Wick, both of Duluth, MN,
and by her daughters Carleen (Greg) Howell of Minneapolis, MN, Nita (Brian)
Hanson of St. Paul, and Katie (Matt) Jorgensen of Neillsville. She is further
survived by her grandchildren: Ruth (Griffin Strunk) Howell, Rebecca Howell,
Mary (Phil) Meyer, Samuel Howell; Marcus and Shannon Hanson; and Elizabeth,
Marie, and Mark Jorgensen.
Services will be held at 2 PM on Thursday, October 19th, with visitation one
hour prior to service at Gesche Funeral Home; Pastor Chad Anderson of Calvary
Lutheran Church officiating. Honorary pall bearers are her grandsons, Griffin
Strunk, Phil Meyer, Samuel Howell, Marcus Hanson, and Mark Jorgensen.
Memorials can be directed to Calvary Lutheran Church Media Ministry fund.
The family would like to thank the caregivers at Marshfield Health System for
their care and comfort.
