Craig, Gertrude “Trude” M. (Schloegl) (27 JUL 1924 - 6 OCT 2017)
Gertrude “Trude” M. Craig, 93, of Our House Assisted Living, Medford, passed
away on Friday, October 6, 2017, at Our House Assisted Living, Medford where she
had resided for the past 4 years.
Per her request, there will be no services. Interment of her cremated remains
will take place at Hillside Cemetery, Marshfield.
Gertrude was born on July 27, 1924, at Humbolt, Saskatchewan, Canada, to William
and Eleanora (Brumleve) Schloegl. She attended District 138 Grade School, Sauk
Center, MN and she later received her GED.
Her first marriage ended in divorce; her second was on February 15, 1951 at
South Dakota, to Lorne D. Craig and he preceded her in death April 15, 1980.
Prior to moving to Medford, she resided in St. Cloud, MN and Bayfield, WI.
Gertrude moved to Medford in 1974 and worked at Black River Industries and the
Medford Creamery as a bookkeeper until her retirement. In her retirement, she
bought and sold antiques. She enjoyed going on trips, visiting with family,
gardening and playing pool. She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church,
Medford and the Medford Senior Center.
Gertrude is survived by her children, Judith (Michael Weeks) Perry of Memphis,
TN, and Clarence Craig of San Diego, CA, 5 grandchildren and 3 great
grandchildren. She is further survived by her sister, Mary Bong of Maple Grove,
MN.
She is predeceased by her parents, William and Eleanora (Brumleve) Schloegl, and
7 brothers & 1 sister.
