DuBois, Mary Ann (Goecks) (22 MAY 1940 - 8 OCT 2017)
Mary Ann DuBois, 77, of Medford, passed away Oct. 8, 2017 at Aspirus Wausau
Hospital. A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 14 at Hemer
Funeral Home, Medford Chapel.
Visitation will be held at Hemer Funeral Home from 1 p.m. until the time of
service at 4 p.m. Cremation rites will be accorded following the service, and
burial of cremated remains will take place at the Hustisford Cemetery.
Mary Ann was born May 22, 1940 in Hustisford, to August and Elsie (Schwantes)
Goecks. She is a 1958 graduate of Hustisford High School. Mary Ann married
Arthur T. DuBois at Horicon on Aug. 18, 1967. Arthur preceded Mary Ann in death
on Dec. 25, 1984.
In 1976, Mary Ann and her family moved to the Medford area where she worked as a
housewife and mother. Prior to moving to Medford they farmed in the Neosha area
for a period of time. In 1985, she began employment at Black River Industries in
Medford where she was in charge of the Taylor County Special Olympics. Mary Ann
loved her grandchildren, and never missed a school or sporting event. She looked
forward to every Halloween at the Sports Page for the Special Olympics Bowling
Tournament. She enjoyed cooking, and completing word searches and crossword
puzzles.
Mary Ann is survived by her children, Tammi Barnes of Medford, Terry (Peter)
Wimmer of Washington, Tracy (Sue) DuBois of Dorchester, Todd DuBois and Ty
DuBois both of Medford; daughter-in-law Julie DuBois of Medford; nine
grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and several cousins.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her son Toby
DuBois.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in honor of Mary Ann can be given to the
family, for designation at a later date.
Hemer Funeral Service of Medford and Rib Lake has been entrusted with
arrangements.
