Baker, Effie Mae (6 OCT 1873 – 21 MAY 1970)
Mrs. Effie Baker, 96, former resident of Stanley, died Thursday at the Havenet
Nursing Home at Owen (Clark Co., Wis.).
She was born at Theresa, New York, October 6, 1873, and came to the Eidsvold
(Clark Co.) area when she was 21 years old. On April 9, 1908 she was united in
marriage to Frank M. Baker at Stanley, and they farmed in the Eidsvold area for
many years. They then retired and moved to Stanley. In October she entered the
Havenet Nursing Home and had lived there since.
Mrs. Baker is survived by one son, Alfred, Dorchester; one daughter, Mrs. Joe
Korn, Stanley; one brother, Edward, West Allis, Wisconsin one sister, Ethel
Hebbring, Winter, Wisconsin; 18 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday at 2 p.m. at Plombon Funeral Home, Stanley,
with the Reverend David Fuller officiating. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery,
Stanley.

Frank M. Baker and Miss Mae Flora were married Saturday evening by Justice
Beaumont. The young couple are residents of Eidsvold and are highly respected.
