Brost, Virginia R. (Aschenbrenner) (6 JUN 1928 - 2 NOV 2010)

Virginia R. Brost, 82, of Sheldon, died on Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2010, at her home.

She was born on June 6, 1928, in Auburndale, Wis., to Louis and Mary Aschenbrenner. Virginia was married on Oct. 7, 1950, to Norman Lambert Brost.

The first 40 years of her life were at the Marshall Cheese Factory, where she raised her seven children. She enjoyed living in the country surrounded by her outstanding friends and neighbors.

After the death of her husband, she sold the plant and moved to her current home in Sheldon. There, she enjoyed her retirement, spending time with her 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Virginia was an active member of St. John’s Catholic Church.

Virginia is survived by her daughters Mary (William) Treichel and Cathryn (Douglas) Reed; her sons Robert, David (Lisa), James (Angel), Joseph (Diane Gurklis) and Mark (Sandra); and her brothers Robert (Lavilia) and Alex.

She was preceded in death by her husband Norman; her brothers Edwin and Elmer; and her sisters Luella, Helen and Maryann.

Funeral services were held on Friday, Nov. 5, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Sheldon.

Burial was in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Sheldon.

The Nash-Jackan Funeral Home in Ladysmith assisted with the arrangements.
