Hastreiter, Gordon (6 SEP 1915- 8 JUN 1970)

Gordon Hastreiter, 54, Woodruff, died on Monday, June 8, 1970, at Lakeland Memorial Hospital after an apparent heart attack.

Mr. Hastreiter was born September, 6, 1915, in Wadena, Minnesota. He was in the lumbering business in Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.) before coming to this area and operating a retail lumber company for 15 years before retiring. He was a member of the Minocqua Knights of Columbus and Woodruff Lions Club.

Survivors include his wife, Marjorie; two daughters, Mrs. Raymond (Mary Alice) Kerr of Appleton, and Deborah, at home; four sons, Dennis of Rhinelander, Gordon Jr., serving in Vietnam, Jerome and Edward, both at home; four brothers, Kenneth of Waukesha, Robert of Wittenburg, Bernard of Grand Rapids, Michigan, and Joseph of Green Bay; two sisters, Mrs. Helen Meske of Thorp and Mrs. Phyllis Velcheck of Hazelwood, Missouri; and three grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday, June 13, at Our Lady Queen of the Universe Church in Woodruff, with the Reverend William Green officiating. Burial was in St. Patrick's Cemetery in Woodruff.

Relatives and friends called at the Bolger Funeral Home in Minocqua on Friday after 2 p.m. Rosary was recited Friday evening at 8 p.m.

Relatives and friends who attended the funeral from Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.) were: Mrs. Helen Meske and Barb, Mr. and Mrs. Dean Hubbard and Mrs. Frank Stewart, Mrs. Catherine Velcheck, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Micke and Mrs. John Giwojna.
