Swanson, Alan R. (23 OCT 1950 - 20 OCT 2017)
Alan R. Swanson, 66, Prentice, died on Friday, October 20, 2017, at the
Marshfield Medical Center-St. Joseph Hospital, Marshfield.
Alan was born on October 23, 1950, in Prentice, the son of Alfred and Lily
(Carlson) Swanson. He attended and graduated from Prentice High School, Class of
1968. He then served his country in the U.S. Army from 1970 to 1972 in Korea and
the United States.
He was employed as a logger all of his life until the time of his retirement due
to ill health.
In his free time he was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and
trapping. He could always be found with his faithful companion his dog Buck.
Alan was never married. He is survived by his 2 nieces: Lisa Kuhn, Kenosha, and
Linda (Doug) Karas, Lake Mills, WI, by 3 great nieces: Alexis, Arianna, and
Aubriella, by 1 great nephew: Riley, by his uncle and an aunt Roy and Marge
Carlson, Mosinee, and by 3 cousins: Virginia (Gary) Nelson, and Lonnie (Marcia)
Carlson, all of Ogema, and Dennis (Candi) Carlson, Lavalle, WI.
He was preceded in death by his parents, by 3 sisters: Beverly Emmer, Arlene
Sedlar, and Jeanette Schuirmann, and Joseph Kuhn.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, October 27, 2017, at
the First Lutheran Church, Ogema, with Pastor Quinlan Koch officiating.
Interment will be held at the Hillside Cemetery, Ogema, with Military Honors by
the Southern Price County VFW Post #8491, Prentice. Friends may call from 10:00
A.M. on Friday, Oct. 27, 2017, at the church until the time of the service.
The Heindl Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
