Miss Carol Gutowski, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alex Gutowski, Stanley, became the
bride of Robert Hubbard, son of Mr. and Mrs. Allen Hubbard, Thorp (Clark Co.,
Wis.), on Saturday, August 8, 1970, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Stanley.
Reverend Donald Berg performed the one o’clock double ring marriage ceremony.
Soloists were Connie Hendrickson and Tom Dubiel.
The bride, given in marriage by her parents, wore an organza semi-bell floor
length gown, applique of re-embroidered lace trimmed with pearls accented,
styled with high neckline, waist and organza chapel train. Organza and lace
petals and flowers forming garland held her three tier bouffant veil.
Miss Kay Gutowski, sister of the bride, was maid of honor, and Miss Donna
Hubbard, sister of the groom, was bridesmaid. They wore lavender crepe floor
length gowns, empire waisted. The flowered nylon top accented the high neckline
and short puffed sleeves.
Roger Hubbard was his brother’s best man and groomsman was Butch Gutowski,
brother of the bride. Ushers were Leonard Gutowski and Royce Hubbard, brothers
of the couple.
A supper and reception were held at the Thorp Legion Hall.
The bride is employed as an office worker with Thorp Finance, and the groom is a
self-employed farmer.
