Amundson, Nancy (15 AUG 1970)
Reverend Robert Olson performed the two p.m. marriage ceremony uniting in
marriage, Nancy Amundson and Fred Barth at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Thorp, on
Saturday, August 15, 1970. Miss Candace Horn was soloist, accompanied by Mrs.
William Boardman.
Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Harold Gardner and Mrs. Gertrude Barth
and the late Conrad Barth, all of Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.).
The bride, given in marriage by her father, made her own gown of Vogue designed
powder blue crepe cage style with long sleeves and detachable train, all trimmed
with white Venice lace. A petaled headpiece in powder blue held a two tier veil
of silk illusion and she carried a bouquet of pink roses, with ivy and white
ribbons.
Mrs. Edwin Barth was matron of honor, and bridesmaids were: Mrs. David Pakiz and
Mrs. Ralph Much. They wore powder blue floral print of locked multi-colored
daisies with short bell sleeves and matching powder blue daisy headpieces. They
each carried bouquets of white carnations with ferns and blue and white
streamers.
Edwin Barth was his brother’s best man, and groomsmen were: Tom Kuester and
Ralph Much. Ushers were John Gardner and Conrad Barth Jr.
A reception was held at 2:30 p.m. and a supper at 4:00 p.m., followed by a dance
at the Thorp Legion Hall.
The bride is a 1963 graduate of Loyal High School and attended W.S.U, Eau
Claire, was with the Peace Corps as a volunteer in Brazil, and presently is
employed with Thorp Finance.
After a wedding trip to Nashville, Tennessee, the new Mr. and Mrs. Barth will
make their home on route 2, Greenwood, where the groom is farming.
