Shreve, Katherine Alice (1 AUG 1970)

Miss Katherine Alice Shreve, granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Mauel Sr. of Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), and daughter of the late Glenn Shreve, was given in marriage by her grandfather to Richard Swiontek, son of Mrs. Valera Swiontek, Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), and the late Stanley Swiontek, August 1, 1970.

The Reverend George Becker officiated at the 11 a.m. ceremony in Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Owen, with Miss Rhonda Mattson playing the organ and Mrs. Sharon Liste singing.

Selected for her wedding was a corded organza and lace wedding gown in empire design and a tiny crown of seed pearls holding a veil of English silk illusion and Venice lace. She entered church carrying a bouquet of white roses and blue stephanotis.

Miss Mary Shreve, Eau Claire, was maid of honor; and Miss Mary Gummerson and Miss Kristine Micke, both of Owen, and Mrs. Robert Parry, Fremont, were bridesmaids. All were attired in powder blue gowns of dimity and Venice lace and Juliet caps of blue daisies holding matching pouf veils. Each carried a floral arrangement of blue and white daisies.

Others in the wedding party were: Nancy and Mark Mauel, flower girl and ring bearer, respectively; Patrick Kofka, Withee, the best man; Wayne Corrigan of Milwaukee, Chuck Erwin of La Farge, and Ken Jalowitz of Withee, groomsmen; and William Mauel and Don Dobrzynski as ushers.

The nuptial Mass was followed by a reception and dinner at the Meadow View Country Club in Owen.

The bride is a senior at Wisconsin State University, Stevens Point. Her husband, a civil engineer for the city of Green Bay, graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Platteville, in August. Green Bay will be the couple’s home.
