Lobacz, Richard J. "Richie" (27 MAR 1945 – 4 NOV 2017)
Richard John “Richie” Lobacz, 72, died peacefully on Saturday, Nov. 4, 2017, at
the Clark County Rehabilitation & Living Center in Owen. A celebration of life
will be held at a later date in Greenwood.
Richard was born on March 27, 1945, in Stanley, to John and Marion (nee Turenne)
Lobacz. He grew up on the family farm in Withee and graduated from Owen-Withee
High School. After graduation he went into the U.S. Army, serving in Germany for
two years. In 1973 he married Esther Henaman in Thorp. After the Army he worked
for a number of years at Lato Construction and Barr’s Animal Foods. He enjoyed
spending time with family and friends and was known to everyone as a hard worker
who loved home-cooked meals. In 2013 he sustained injuries in a car wreck and
never fully recovered.
Richard is survived by his wife, Esther; two children, Simone (David Hodgdon)
Lobacz and Tommy (Karen Koltz) Lobacz; a grandson, Dominic Lobacz; and his
brothers: Raymond (Lynda) Lobacz, Kenny (Linda) Lobacz, Edward (Mary) Lobacz,
and Karl (Pam) Lobacz. He was also blessed with many wonderful nieces and
nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Ernest Lobacz.
