Christianson, Bernadette (Knaak) (23 AUG 1923 - 25 SEP 2015)
Bernadette Christianson, 92, Wausau, died Friday September 25, 2015 at
Wellington Place.
She was born August 23, 1923, in Wausau, daughter of the late John and Magdelena
(Hentges) Knaak. On August 27, 1941, she married Walter "Bud" Christianson in
Wausau. He preceded her in death December 12, 1988.
During World War II Bernadette worked at Marathon Battery. She was also an
accomplished seamstress and was employed at Julie Ann Fabrics and then at the
Kmart Pharmacy, both of Wausau. Bernadette was a member of the PCCW at St.
Matthew Catholic Church where she was a member.
Survivors include a son, Allan (Elizabeth) Christianson, Madison, a brother,
Paul Knaak, Eureka, Calif., grandchildren, Diane Handrick, Cottage Grove, Eric
(Jennifer) Christianson, Cottage Grove, Robert (Amy) Christianson, Madison;
great grandchildren, Alaina, Christian, and Joseph Handrick, Cottage Grove,
George and Grace Christianson, Cottage Grove and Erin and William Christianson,
Madison.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Thursday October 1, 2015 at St.
Mary Roman Catholic Oratory, Wausau. Rev. Aaron Huberfeld will preside. Burial
will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the
Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Avenue, Wausau and again on Thursday
from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church. There will be a parish
Rosary at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday evening at the Stewart Avenue funeral home.
