Luchterhand, Kubet (Doctor of Philosophy degree -1974)
Kubet Luchterhand was awarded a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Anthropology by
the University of Chicago at commencement exercises August 30.
In preparation for his doctorate dissertation, Kubet did work at many sites and
museums in the United States, and in Nairobi, Kenya, Africa; London, England;
Tervuren, Belgium; Frankfurt-am-Main, Germany; and in Ethiopia, Africa.
Kubet received his Bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Northwestern University
and his Master’s degree in anthropology from the University of Chicago. He is
now beginning his fifth year as assistant professor of anthropology at Roosevelt
University.
Emil and Mary Luchterhand, parents of the graduate, of rural Unity, went to
Chicago to witness the ceremonies. Debra Luchterhand, a senior at the University
of Wisconsin and sister of Kubet, also went to Chicago for the ceremony.
