Siemek, Sharon Marlene (19 SEP 1970)
Miss Sharon Marlene Siemek, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Max Siemek, became the
bride of John Joseph Erl, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe A. Erl, on Saturday, September
19, 1970 at Zion Lutheran Church, Gilman. Reverend Edwin Jording performed the
two p.m. marriage ceremony.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, chose an empire styled floor length
gown with lace over bridal satin, styled with scoop neckline, long full sleeves
and a long train attached at the waist with a bow. Her fingertip veil was held
together by a crown of crystal and pearl dew drops, and she carried a bridal
bouquet of white carnations and pink roses.
Mrs. Eileen Grunseth was her sister's matron of honor, and bridesmaid and junior
bridesmaid were the groom's sisters, Sharon (same name as bride?) and Donna Erl.
They wore empire styled, floor length shrimp colored gowns featuring lace over
the bodice, long full sleeves made of lace, and satin skirts. Net attached to a
bow made of satin and lace constituted their headpieces, and each carried
colonial bouquets of white carnations centered with pink carnations.
Jerome Dassow, friend of the groom, was best man, and groomsman was Leslie
Siemek, brother of the bride, and junior best man was Lindy Siemek, also a
brother of the bride.
A dinner for 200 guests was held at four p.m. at Koolmo's Ballroom, Gilman,
where a dance was also held.
The bride attended Gilman High School and the groom Medford High School.
After a wedding trip to norther parts of Wisconsin and Northern Michigan, they
will make their home in Medford, where the groom is a window and door
manufacturer.
