Foster, Mr./Mrs. John (40th – 24 SEP 1970)
The celebration of Mr. and Mrs. John Foster's 40 years event of marriage was
arranged by their children and their families. A family dinner on Saturday,
September 26 was held at the Thorpedo Restaurant, Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.).
September 24 was the date of the marriage 40 years ago. Father Berg officiated
at Holy Family Parish in Stanley. The gifts were carried by Karen and Cindy
Haas. After church, the evening was spent at the home of John Foster, where
cards were played and refreshments served.
A corsage of orchids for the mother and a corsage of white carnations for the
great-grandmother, Mrs. Francis Foster, and boutonnieres for the father, which
were all gifts from the children. The children also had a yellow chrysanthemum
corsage made by Mrs. Arnold (Marion) Haas.
The wedding cake, adorned with two wedding bells, was made by a friend. Numerous
cards were received. Out of town guests included: Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Haas
(Marion) and family of Sheboygan; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Johnson (Mavis) and family
of Mosinee; Mr. Leonard Foster of Cedarburg, and his two daughters of St.
Charles, Illinois; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Foster and family of Minnesota; Mr. and
Mrs. Marvin Foster and family of Sheboygan Falls; Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Henschel
(Jacqueline) and family of Cleveland, Wisconsin; Mr. and Mrs. Larry Anderson
(Sharon) and family of Grafton; and Mr. Lee Foster of Sheboygan. Also present
were their 21 grandchildren and the mother of John Foster. Also attending were
Douglas Lindsay of Sheboygan and Mr. and Mrs. Robert LaSage of Stanley.
