Mr. and Mrs. John S. Bogumill of Stevens Point, Wisconsin are leaving for St.
Petersburg, Florida on October 28th.
Mrs. Malen Teclaw is a patient at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.
Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Kaz and family of rural Owen were Sunday dinner guests at
the Walter Bohn home.
Mr. Orville Asselin of Eau Claire spent Tuesday at the Layton Asselin home.
Mr. and Mrs. Albert Sterling and children and Mr. and Mrs. Donald Borton, both
of Eau Claire, visited at the John C. Maier home and also visited other friends
around Thorp.
Mrs. William Weinberger of Withee spent Tuesday with Mrs. Dave Weinberger.
Mr. and Mrs. Walter Panek of Chicago became the proud parents of their fourth
daughter, Wendy Marie, born September 23, 1970, weighing six pounds, ten ounces.
Mrs. Helen Simkus and Mr. Donald Dombrowski became the proud godparents on the
celebrated christening October 11th at St. Rita's Catholic Church.
A celebration dinner was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. William Simkus in
honor of Wendy Marie.
Mrs. Panek is the former Antoinette Simkus, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William
Simkus, formerly of Thorp.
Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Szymanski and sons of Eau Claire visited relatives in Thorp
on Sunday afternoon.
Roland Caan and Ed Meyer of Milwaukee spent the weekend at the Joe Reichert
home.
Don Soderberg and family of Marshfield, Wisconsin spent Sunday At the Pat
Soderberg home.
