Sorenson, William “Bill” Edward (8 JUL 1957 - 4 NOV 2017)

William ”Bill” Edward Sorenson, 60, passed away peacefully on November 4, 2017 at his home in Eau Claire with family member’s at his side.

Bill was born on July 8, 1957, in Stanley, WI to Armond and Nancy (Hagstorm) Sorenson. He grew up in the Stanley area and then later moved to Eau Claire where he graduated from North High School in 1976.

Bill went on to receive his Welding Degree from CVTC in 1977. That summer of 1977, he was united in marriage to Linda Schroder and had two sons Steve and Scott. On September 6, 1986 he was united in marriage to Thomasine “Tammy” Vinton and had twin daughters Jennifer and Angela.

Bill started with J&D Manufacturing as a welder but quickly advanced into a lead maintenance position. Bill spent 31 dedicated years with J&D. During his life Bill loved to spend time with his family and friends, grilling/cooking, four-wheeling, camping, watching westerns and sci-fi movies. But most of all he enjoyed; tinkering, jerry-rigging, building, designing, and fabricating…. ”nothing was garbage, anything could be scrapped, everything could be fixed”.

He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Thomasine Sorenson of Eau Claire; his 4 children, Steve Sorenson of Chippewa Falls, Scott (Kelly) Sorenson of Chippewa Falls, Jennifer (Nick) Sorenson of Eau Claire, Angela (Matt) Ranney of Eau Claire; his 3 grand-children, Eastin, Kason Sorenson and Jannessa Major; his brother, John (Betty) Sorenson; his nephew and niece Bradon Sorenson and Brittny (Sorenson) Proctor.

He was preceded in death by his parents Armond and Nancy Sorenson.

A special thank you to Mayo Hospice for their wonderful care and thoughtfulness.

A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. on Monday, November 13, 2017, a Unity Christ Center, 1808 Folsom Street in Eau Claire. Visitation will be held one-hour prior at Unity Christ Center. Dinner and fellowship will be held immediately following the service at the VFW, 1300 Star Ave in Eau Claire.
