Klabunde, Bernard Eugene (17 JUN 1938 - 7 NOV 2017)

Bernard Eugene Klabunde, 79, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2017, at the Dycora Transitional Health Nursing Home in Abbotsford.

He was born on June 17, 1938, in Little Black to John and Charlotte (Small) Klabunde.
Bernard “Benny” or “Ben,” grew up in rural Taylor County, graduating from Dorchester High School in 1956. Ben worked several maintenance related jobs, eventually retiring in 2001 at the age of 63.

Ben married Gloria (Hanson) on May 17, 1958, in Dorchester. They were happily married for 59 years.

Ben is remembered for his kind, gentle personality by all who knew him and as an active member at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Dorchester. Ben enjoyed reading and sharing what he learned about the Bible and also volunteered his time in international construction work including Africa, South America and Latin America.

A memorial service for the immediate family will be held in Dorchester.

Ben is survived by his wife, Gloria; his brother, Jerome (June) Klabunde; his sons, Jeff (Debbie) Klabunde of Colby, Scott (Nancy) Klabunde of Wautoma and Brad Klabunde of Medford; his grandchildren, Troy, Trevor, Kayla, Luke, Mavric, Blaine, Brianne and Bailey; and his great-grandchild, Macey.

Ben was preceded in death by his parents, John and Charlotte Klabunde.
