Boehm, Mary M. (Lang) (4 SEP 1939 - 24 NOV 2017)
Mary M. Boehm died on November 24, 2017. She was 96 years old. Mary was born on
October 26, 1921 in the Town of Cassel, daughter of the late William and
Margaret (Seliger) Lang.
On September 4, 1939, she married Leon Boehm in Marathon. They resided in
Marathon County all of their lives. While caring for and raising their family,
Mary and Leon operated a Grade A Dairy Farm in Marathon for 40 years. Mary and
her husband also were bartenders at Poplar Tree Ballroom for a number of years.
Mary was known for her hospitality and caring for others. She was an excellent
homemaker, gardener, and quilter. She had a “green thumb” for raising beautiful
plants and flowers. Mary enjoyed bowling, entertaining, cards, and going to
activities that her children and grandchildren were involved in. She was always
family oriented. Mary liked spending time with family and friends and will be
deeply missed by all of them.
She belonged to the Parish Council of Catholic women at St. Mary’s Parish,
Marathon for many years.
Mary is survived by 4 children and daughter-in-law: Sister Diane Boehm, Eau
Claire, Mary Ellen Schreiber (Alvin Funk), Cedar River, MI, Lynn Wiesman (Dave
Fraidenburg), Green Bay, Connie (John) Bresson, Plano, TX and Alice Boehm,
Marathon. 11 grandchildren: Ann Mueller, Garden City, TX, Brian (Lisa) Boehm,
Marathon, Chris (Larry) Heise, Edgar, Neil (Amy) Boehm, Allegan, MI, Dan (Holly)
Wiesman, Casco, Ted (Julie) Wiesman, Green Bay, Dawn (Paul) Soletski, Green Bay,
Dave (Brooke) Wiesman, Green Bay, Jessica (Steve) Craig, Somerville, MA, Kevin
Bresson, Dallas, TX and Renee Bresson, Dallas, TX and 22 great grandchildren and
1 great-great grandchild.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, all of her brothers,
Leonard, Edward, Theodore, Leo, Walter, Erhart, Louis, and Herbert Lang and all
of her sisters, Frances Hack, Eleanor Wellner, Margaret Lang and Margaret
Straub, her son, Lee Boehm, and two grandchildren, Fred Schreiber and Kathy
Lewitzke.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:30 a.m. Saturday, December 2, 2017 at St.
Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. The Rev. Msgr. Joseph Diermeier will preside.
Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call Saturday from 9 a.m.
until the time of services at the church.

arrangements.
