Yost, William B. (4 JUL 1892 – 19 FEB 1973)
William B. Yost, 80, R. 1, Spencer, passed away at his home on Monday, February
19, 1973, at 12:00 p.m. of natural causes. Funeral services were held on
Wednesday, February 21 at 2:00 p.m. at the Spencer United Methodist Church, with
Rev Bernie Scott officiating. Burial was made in the West Spencer Cemetery. The
Rux Funeral Home, Spencer, was in charge of arrangements.
William Yost was born in Benton County, Iowa on July 4, 1892. He was married to
Nira Rinker on December 29, 1914, in Iowa. She preceded him in death in 1969.
William Yost was a farmer and worked for awhile in a local dairy plant. He spent
all his married life in the Spencer area. He was a member of the United
Methodist Church of Spencer.
He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Allen (Helen) Leitner, Wisconsin Rapids;
three sons, Vance, Oshkosh; Marvin, Palmdale, California; and Harold, R. 1,
Spencer; 13 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; one brother, Clarence, of
Taer, Iowa; and two sisters, Mrs. Ted (Amanda) Nass, Dysart, Iowa; and Mrs. Ida
Williams of Dysart, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his wife, one son and his parents, Mr. and Mrs.
William Yost.
