Navy Petty Officer Third Class Thomas E. Purcell, husband of the former Nancy J.
Hinkelmann of Route 1, Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.), has returned to his home port in
Long Beach, California, after a seven-month deployment in the Western Pacific
aboard the guided missile frigate USS Truxton.
During the deployment, the Truxton served as an air control for Navy and Air
Force planes, and coordinated search and rescue activities in Vietnam.
He visited Singapore, Hong Kong, Philippines and the Japanese ports of Sasebo
and Yokosuka.
