Moczynski, Leroy John (25 August 1933 – 1 December 2017) With Flag
Leroy Moczynski, age 84, of Neillsville, WI died Friday, December 1, 2017, at
the House of the Dove in Marshfield, WI.
Leroy John Moczynski was born on August 25, 1933 in Milwaukee, WI, the son of
Martin and Celia (Jurkowski) Moczynski. He attended parochial catholic grade
school, and graduated from high school in Milwaukee. He then worked at a
brewery, and later at a foundry in Milwaukee before enlisting into the United
States Army. After his honorable discharge, he began working at Allen-Bradley
Company as a machine operator. He worked there 30 years before moving to
Neillsville. In Neillsville, he farmed for five years, and then he went to work
for G. O. Sportswear in Neillsville, and later in Thorp, WI, making jackets. He
was united in marriage to Dawn Schoen on December 31, 1996. In 1997, Leroy
started working for WeatherShield in Greenwood, WI. He worked there until its
closing in 2008, and then reluctantly retired.
In his spare time, Leroy enjoyed making model antique cars and boats, collecting
western shirts, telling jokes, fishing, and watching semi-trucks and
motorcycles.
He is survived by his wife Dawn, two daughters, Christine (Jason) Bottlemy of
Neillsville, WI, and Kim (Jason) Dix of Loyal, WI; six grandchildren, Dakota,
Kaylie, and Austin Bottlemy, and Madyson, Allyson, and Jayna Dix. Leroy is also
survived by several nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, and brothers.
A Memorial Service for Leroy will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 7,
2017 at the Living Hope Evangelical Free Church in Neillsville. Pastor Steven
Wentz will officiate. Music will be provided by Mary Cournoyer, soloist.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Thursday at the Living Hope
Church. The Neillsville Veteran’s Council will perform military honors.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the family for designation at a
later date.
