The Spring Election has some very important state offices to be filled. Bruce Beilfus, who is known to so many Clark County people, is a candidate for re-election to the State Supreme Court. He is widely respected as a fair and competent member of the Court.

Barbara Thompson seems very well qualified to the State Superintendent of Schools. It is an office that requires a comprehensive knowledge of elementary, high schools and colleges. Anyone who has not worked in close conjunction with the State Office would have to spend a large part of his or her term just learning the fundamental operations of the system before making any intelligent decisions. She has had wide experience in the work, and seems to have the background to be a good superintendent.

Myrtle and Warren Davis and Mrs. Ed Lazotte of Neillsville went to Viroqua on Sunday to visit the ladies' aunt, Jessie Nicks. She was 94 last Friday and is active and alert.

The New York Homemakers met at the home o Lucille Tyler on Thursday evening, March 22. Marcia Crothers, vice-president, was in charge of the business meeting. Pat Naedler present a film strip on "Window Treatments," and also showed a set of slides on Ireland. She also told us some of the highlights of Irish history.
