Petersen, Elise (Larson) (14 MAR 1863 - 22 MAR 1948)
Last rites for Mrs. Elise Petersen, Jump River, were held at the Presbyterian
church in Jump River at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 25, the Rev. George C. Fisher
officiating, and interment was made in Mount Nebo cemetery.
Mrs. Petersen passed away at Chippewa Falls the preceding Monday at the age of
85 years following a four year illness.
The former Miss Elise Larson was born in Stathelle, Norway, on March 14, 1863,
and came to the United States to settle in Chicago when she was 20 years old. On
September 15, 1883, she was married in that city to Peter Petersen and the
couple came to Jump River in March of 1920.
Survivors include the following children, Louis, Big Timber, Mont.; Pete,
McCook, Nebraska; Edward, San Francisco, Calif.; John and Andrew, North Platte,
Nebraska; Mrs. Mary Peters, Grand Island, Nebraska; Otto, Pensacola, Florida;
and Emanuel and Mrs. Inga Russell, Jump River. There are 21 grandchildren and 19
great grandchildren.
Mrs. Petersen was preceded in death by her husband on June 30, 1937, and a
daughter.
A. E. McNeely, Edgar McVicker, Edwin Rhamey, Steve Miller, August Schmidt and
Zenas A. Beadles acted as pallbearers.
Attending the funeral from away were John and Andrew Petersen, North Platte,
Nebraska and Mr. and Mrs. Otto Petersen and son bobby, Pensacola, Florida.
