Hefty, Mildred M. (31 May 1919 – 28 August 2017)
Mildred M. Hefty, 98, of Black River Falls passed away Monday, Aug. 28, 2017, at
Pine View Care Center, Black River Falls. She was born Aug. 7, 1919, to Gilbert
and Agnetha (Gilbertson) Lokken in Montana.
Mildred was raised in Montana before her family moved to Eau Claire, and then
Fairchild. She was united in marriage to Fred Hefty May 31, 1941, in Humbird,
and together they farmed in the Humbird area.
Mildred enjoyed playing cards, fishing, baking, dancing, volunteering, and
watching the Green Bay Packers, and Milwaukee Brewers. She was involved in
leadership in 4-H, church, school, and senior citizens.
Mildred is survived by her children, Roy (Dorothy) Hefty of Hixton, Marie (Ray)
Howard of Apple Valley, MN, Duane Hefty of Alcoa, TN, and Diane (Gerald) Mancl
of Wisconsin Rapids; eight grandchildren, Jeff, Teresa, Daniel, Susanne, Jason,
Michael, Jennifer, and Dawn; four great-grandchildren, Olivia, Laura, Elle, and
Amanda; other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred; parents Gilbert and Agnetha;
brothers Lawrence, Woodroff, Carl, Bert, and Crist.
A memorial service was held Friday, Sept. 1, 2017, at 11 a.m. at the United
Methodist Church, Black River Falls. Reverend Kathleen Jury officiated. Burial
followed at Rest Lawn Cemetery, Wisconsin Rapids.
Family and friends were invited for visitation Friday, from 9:30 a.m. until the
time of the service at the church. Memorials can be sent to the United Methodist
Church.
Buswell Funeral Home of Black River Falls assisted the family with arrangements.
