Perkins, Evelyn M. (6 March 1933 – 23 August 2017)
Evelyn M. Perkins, 84, of Black River Falls passed away peacefully at her home
Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2017, while under the care of her family, Kelly, Jeff, and
Anna, and Black River Memorial Hospice. She was born March 6, 1933, in Minnesota
to Richard and Thea Pederson.
Evelyn grew up in Duluth and Aitkin, MN. She was united in marriage to Murle
Perkins Jr. in Minnesota, and together they moved to Black River Falls in 1968.
Evelyn worked at the toothpick factory in Duluth, and moved to Aitkin. After she
moved to Black River Falls, Evelyn was a stay-at-home mom, raising her children,
then went to work for Norplex, retiring after about 10 years.
Evelyn enjoyed gardening, quilting, and spending time with her family, and
especially her grandchildren. She also had the pleasure of traveling throughout
her years, and some places she visited were Alaska, Yellowstone, and Mexico.
Evelyn is survived by her children, Jeffrey (Anna Phillips) Perkins, Kelly
Perkins, Murle (significant other Kim) Perkins III, of Black River Falls, and
Darla (Denny) Susa of Chili; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren;
nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Murle, son Frank, granddaughter Shelby,
parents Richard and Thea and five sisters.
Evelyn’s family would like to extend a special thank you to Black River Memorial
Hospice. With their help they made it possible for the family to help care for
her at home, as per her wishes, and a thank you to the people who had stopped at
the house, and spent time with her.
There will be no funeral services at this time. Buswell Funeral Home of Black
River Falls is assisting the family with arrangements.
