Orland L. Staves, 70, of Clam Lake passed away Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2017, at UW
Hospital and Clinics in Madison.
Orland was born Oct. 26, 1947, to the late George and Mildred (Schlichter)
Staves in Black River Falls. He was raised in Humbird, where he attended
elementary school, and graduated from Alma Center High School. Following his
graduation from the CVTC om Eau Claire, he was an apprentice for three years at
FMC in Minnesota to earn his Journeyman Machinist certificate. He returned to
Chippewa Falls, working 25 years at Extrusion Dies before he co-founded Allied
Dies in 2001.
He married Peggy Janke April 19, 1969, at Fairview Catholic Church outside of

passing on his passion to his grandchildren, teaching them how to hunt and fish.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy; son Todd (Jennifer), daughter Jodie (Trevor)
Malicki; grandchildren, Nicholas (Anitra), Nathan (Fiancé Marissa) and Brennon
Staves; and Cody, and Tori Benz; great-granddaughter Dazie Benz; sisters: Diane

Orland was preceded in death by parents, and brothers Dale, and Jim.
