Albrecht, Louis Paul (6 July 1945 – 9 December 2017) With Flag

Louis Albrecht, age 72, of Neillsville, WI died suddenly Saturday, December 9, 2017 at the Memorial Medical Center in Neillsville.

Louis Paul Albrecht was born on July 6, 1945 in Neillsville, the son of Paul and Martha Albrecht. He attended school in Neillsville, and during his high school years worked at Van Gorden’s Feed Mill. Louis graduated from Neillsville High School in 1963, and then went to work at the Research Farm. Shortly after he enlisted into the U. S. Army, and served during the Vietnam era. On November 8, 1969, he was united in marriage to Jean Bloczynski at Bakerville. After his honorable discharge, he returned to this area, and began working as a police officer in Marshfield, WI. He worked there for four years before coming to Clark County, and working as a traffic deputy. Louis eventually climbed the ranks to detective and lastly, detective sergeant before retiring in the late 90s.

In his leisure time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and he had a love of guns. He was a member of the Haugen-Richmond American Legion Post #73 in Neillsville, the 40 & 8, a very active member of the Winx Club, and Ducks Unlimited. Louis also devoted many years volunteering for the American Legion and The Highground.


He is survived by his wife, Jean and three children, Paul Albrecht of Neillsville, Rose Albrecht of Severn, MD, and Kara (Charles) Gail of Cottage Grove, MN; two grandchildren, Dayne Albrecht of Eau Claire, and Sophie Gail of Cottage Grove, MN.: and by several cousins.


He was preceded in death by his parents.


Funeral services for Louis will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 12, 2017, at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville. Pastor Terry Marg will officiate. Interment will be in the Neillsville City Cemetery, with the Neillsville Veteran’s Council performing Military Honors. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday and from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Tuesday at the Gesche Funeral Home.


Casket bearers are his family members: Paul Albrecht, Kara Gail, Rose Albrecht, Charles Gail, Dayne Albrecht, and Caleb Domeyer.
