Thomas, Dolores A. (Manning) (12 APR 1941 - 9 DEC 2017)

Dolores A. Thomas, age 76, of Weston, formerly of Pennsylvania and Colby, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 9, 2017, at Ascension St. Clare’s Hospital in Weston.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 15, 2017, at the Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford. Rev. Tony Ring will preside. Family and friends are welcome from 11 a.m. until the time of service Friday at the funeral home. Interment will be held at Mount Joy Cemetery in Pennsylvania at a later date.

Dolores was born on April 12, 1941, the daughter of Nelson and Stella (Smith) Manning in Columbia, Pa. She grew up in Manor Township, and graduated from Columbia High School, all in Pennsylvania. On May 28, 1960, Dolores was united in marriage to William H. Thomas in Columbia, Pa. Together they lived in Columbia, Pa., Hales Corner, Huntington, W. Va., Colby and Weston. She worked at KD Tool in Lancaster, Pa., and for the Bowling Congress in Milwaukee.

Dolores was a member of St. Katherine’s Episcopal Church in Owen. She volunteered as a Sunday School superintendent and teaching Bible School in W. Va. Dolores was a member of the Red Hat Society. She was very artistic and won several awards at the Wis. State Fair in Norwegian rosemaling. She also was enthusiastic in her sewing, crafts including yo-yos and decorating for the holidays. Dolores was a Master Gardener and also helped raise money making daffodil pins for cancer research. She enjoyed cooking and baking for her family, especially for the holidays. Dolores cherished her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also was fond of her Yorkies.

Dolores is survived by her husband of 57 years, William of Weston; two children, Rebecca (George) Beck of Lititz, Pa. and Amy Thomas (Brian Guerin) of Marshfield; two grandchildren, Scot (Liz) Baumgartner and Jessica (Brent) Haas, both of Colby; seven great-grandchildren, Luke, Caleb, Ezra, Levi, Kya, Brody and Stella. She is further survived by two sisters, LaVon (John) Harnish of Mt. Joy, Pa., and Doris (Edward) Otto of Farmington, Conn.; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
