Dave Kile, TA, son of Mr. and Mrs. David Kile, (Thorp, Clark Co., Wis.), is
serving aboard the USS Canopus, submarine tender, stationed at Holy Loch,
Scotland.
In February, Dave board the USS Canopus at Bremerton, Washington, with the ship
getting underway for training at Guantanamo Bay, and assignment as relief for
the USS Simon Lake as on site tender at Holy Lock, Scotland. Liberty ports at
Acapulco, Mexico and Panama City, Panama were visited enroute. The shakedown
cruise ended at Charleston, South Carolina to correct construction deficiencies.
