Fern Horn, Stevens Point, is spending a part of her vacation at the Elmer Horn
Home. She recently returned from San Diego, California, where she visited her
nephew, Merlyn Horn Jr. and family. He iss in the Marines and is now stationed
in San Diego.
Mrs. Henry Kurz was a guest for luncheon, along with Mrs. Algene Schmidtke and
children of Stratford, at the Ray Metcalfe home.
June 1, yours truly was guest of honor at a surprise birthday party by my better
half, and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Metcalfe. Very nice! Friends, family, cake, gifts and
best wishes. Who could ask for more? Nobody!
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Kurz and children helped Ellis Winkel celebrate his birthday
on Monday evening at his home.
Mr. and Mrs. Lee Jackson had a party in honor of their son Randy's graduation
from Spencer High School. Almost 40 people were present at the Sherman Town Hall
on Friday evening. Randy received a scholarship from Land O' Lakes to attend
college at Marshfield. He is employed at ShopKo.
Phyllis Gorst, daughter of the late Mr. Raphael Gorst, and Mrs. Beatrice Gorst,
graduated from Spencer High School and will continue studies at Green Bay Tech
in the fall.
