Kozikowski, Nellie H. (10 DEC 1921 – 11 DEC 2017)
Nellie H. Kozikowski, age 96, of Thorp, passed away at Oakbrook Health & Rehab
on Monday, December 11, 2017. Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. on
Friday,
December 15, 2017, at St. Bernard-St. ! Hedwig Catholic Church in Thorp. Rev.
Janusz
Kowalski officiated and burial followed in St. Bernard Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation was held at the church, on Friday, from 9:00 a.m. until time of
service.
Nellie Hedwig Kozikowski was born on December 10, 1921, in Lublin, WI, to
Michael and Veronica (Swistak) Kozikowski. She was raised on the family farm
northeast of Thorp and received her education in area schools, graduating from
Thorp High School in 1939. After completing her education, she moved to Chicago
and worked there until her retirement. She then moved back to Thorp where she
resided until the time of her death.
She had many interests, but especially enjoyed dancing, listening to music, and
helping children. She was a member of St. Bernard-St. Hedwig Catholic Church and
its Parish Council of Catholic Women.
Nellie is survived by several nieces, nephews, great- nieces and nephews, other
relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; eight brothers: Steve, Walter, Peter,
Paul, Frank, John, Edward and Alexander; and two sisters: Julia Kozikowski and
Josephine Spiewak.
