Lind, Patricia “Pat” (Popple) Prentice (28 DEC 1930 - 11 DEC 2017)
Patricia “Pat” Prentice Lind, 86, Cornell, passed away Dec. 11, 2017, at Cornell
Health Services.
Patricia was born at home Sunday, Dec. 28, 1930, to Charles and Anna Popple in
Cornell.
She attended school in Cornell, graduating in 1949. She then attended one year
of college in Eau Claire, and her father died the last day of school.
Pat was employed by the Wisconsin Telephone Co., in Eau Claire, in the business
office as a teller, and later became a service representative, which she really
enjoyed. She worked with great women and they remained friends for several
years.
Pat married her high school sweetheart, Jerry Prentice, Aug. 2, 1952.
Jerry was in the U.S. Marine Corp at that time, so after his leave, he returned
to his base and Pat returned to her job in Eau Claire. When Jerry was
discharged, they settled in Cornell, where they had three children.
Following the passing of her husband, Jerry, Oct. 7, 1990, she was united in
marriage to Lloyd Lind June 2, 1995. Lloyd passed away 13 years later, March 3,
2009.
She is survived by her children – Jim Prentice, Peggy (Bill) Jackson and Kris
(Brian) Geissler; grandchildren –Mitchell (Rose) Carlson, Rachel (Jon) McCredden,
Lindsey (Eric) Colvin, Carrie (Zack) Kramschuster and Jay (Ashley) Geissler;
great-grandchildren – Collin and Amy Carlson, Jack and Abigail McCredden, Pierce
and Carter Colvin, Hadley and Caden Kramschuster, and Baby Geissler, due in
January 2018; and sister – Virginia (Bob) Feiler.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husbands – Jerry Prentice and Lloyd
Lind; brother – Harold Popple; half-siblings – Norman Popple, Mary Ferguson and
Arlene Gunning; brothers-in-laws – Emil Ferguson and Edwin Gunning;
sister-in-law – Dorothy Popple; and grandsons in infancy –Ryan Prentice, Matthew
and Michael Geissler.
A memorial service was held at 11 a.m., Friday, Dec. 15, at the First
Presbyterian Church in Cornell, officiated by Pastor Beverly Thompson.
Interment was at the Cornell Cemetery following services. Visitation was held
two hours prior to services, Friday, at the church.
