Gilles, Marion F. (Bateman) (3 JUN 1920 - 10 DEC 2017)

Marion F. Gilles, 97, formerly of Cadott, passed away Sunday, Dec. 10, 2017, at Wissota Health and Regional Vent Center in Chippewa Falls.

Marion was born June 3, 1920, to Forrest and Jessie (Kingsland) Bateman.

She was raised in the Town of Anson, and attended Pine Grove School and Cadott High School.
Marion Bateman was united in marriage to Lloyd Arnold Gilles in November 1937, in Vancouver, Wash.

She lived in the Cadott area all her life, and moved to the Village of Cadott in 1978. Marion worked at the Northern Wisconsin Center for 25 1/2 years, and taught crocheting classes at the vocational school in Chippewa Falls, and also in Cadott.

Marion was the past president of the Chippewa Falls Senior Citizen Fun Club for many years, and she loved to sew, quilt and play cards. She also loved her computer and her dog.

She is survived by her sons – William (Lynn) Gilles, Neil (Judy) Gilles and Stephen (Sharon) Gilles; daughter-in-law – Judy Gilles; grandchildren – Blain Gilles, Kirk Gilles, LaCinda Jameson, Tracy Paulsen, Sherri Jo Gutowski (Dano), Scott Gilles (Debbie), Sara Winger (Chad) and Mark Gilles (Tammy); and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband – Lloyd Gilles; son – Robert “Rusty” Gilles; grandson – Todd Gilles; grandson-in-law – Brian Paulsen; brother – George Bateman; sisters – Elsie McIlquham, Margaret Stanley, Blanche LeMay and Irene McIlquham.

Services were held at noon, Monday, Dec. 18, at Leiser Funeral Home in Cadott, with the Rev. George Olinske officiating. Interment was in the St. Rose Cemetery, Town of Sigel, following the services.

Visitation was held from 10 a.m., until the time of services, Monday.
