Zinsli, Richard E. (20 MAY 1939 - 6 DEC 2017)
Richard E. Zinsli, 78, Cornell, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2017, at Sacred
Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.
Richard was born the son of William and Lillie (Falbe) Zinsli Sr., May 20, 1939,
in Cornell.
He graduated from Cornell High School, then joining the Army Reserve.
Richard married Bonnie Hoffman Oct. 7, 1961, at the First Presbyterian Church in
Cornell.
He became a consulting field engineer for a naval contractor. He retired and
they moved back to Cornell, were he was very active in the community, including
the American Legion and the Cornell Centennial Committee.
Richard also worked at Cornell High School, where he made good use of his
talents from his previous working skills.
He is survived by his wife – Bonnie Zinsli; children –Brian Zinsli, Dina (Joe)
Quanico, Deanna (Julio) Martinez and Debbie (Antwaun) Nailon; seven
grandchildren – San Martin Jr., Keoni, Anissa, Kamron, Diontae, Maximus and
Antwaun Jr. sisters – Irene Albrecht and Caroline Sammon; a brother – William
Zinsli Jr.; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 16, at Borton-Leiser
Funeral Home in Cornell. A memorial visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m.,
until the time of service, Saturday, at the funeral home.
A lunch will follow at the Cornell American Legion Club Room.
