Rice, MaryEllen F. (Dietzman) (15 FEB 1944 - 16 DEC 2017)
MaryEllen F. Rice, age 73, of Owen, formerly of CA, passed away on Saturday,
December 16, 2017 at her residence surrounded by her loving family under the
tender care of hospice.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at
the Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Owen. The Rev. Dr. Gary Paul will
officiate. Family and friends are welcome on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the
time of service at the funeral home.
MaryEllen was born on February 15, 1944, the daughter of Everette and Marie (Bethke)
Dietzman in Gilman. She graduated from Gilman High School. Mary moved to
Milwaukee and worked at Briggs & Stratton for a few years. She then moved to
California and started her own housecleaning business. Here she met Wayne Rice
and they were united in marriage on November 22, 2000 in Las Vegas, NV. They
lived in CA until moving to Owen in 2010.
Mary enjoyed bowling, fishing, dancing, playing cards, games, poker, games on
the Wii, word puzzles, traveling, polka and country music. Most importantly, she
cherished her family.
MaryEllen is survived by her husband, Wayne of Owen; her son, Steve Weeks of
Thorp; three step-children: Mickie (Ruben) Salgado of NV, Nancy (Craig) Goveia
of CA and Clyde W. Rice II of CA; three grandchildren: Trinity of CA, Jerad of
FL and Kirina of WI; seven step-grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She
is further survived by two sisters: Marian Poppe of Thorp and Elaine (George)
Starks of Owen; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
