Saxe, Doran (1 NOV 1922 - 13 DEC 2017)

Doran Saxe, 95, Milwaukee, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 13.

Doran was born Nov. 1, 1922, along with his twin brother, Donald, to Vernon and Lydia (Schultz) Saxe.

He grew up in Cornell, where he attended school, graduating from Cornell High School.
Following graduation, he worked at the Cornell Paper Products Co. for one year, before entering the United States Army during World War II.

After his honorable discharge, Doran stopped in Milwaukee with his buddy, Warren Bollman. It was there he met his future wife, June Bollman. They were married May 10, in Oshkosh.
The couple lived on Lake Winnebago for several years, before moving to Milwaukee, where Doran was employed by Harley Davidson. They two had four children: twin girls who died in infancy, and Sandra Jean Pruitt and Jeffrey Scott Saxe, both of Wauwatosa.

He is survived by children – Sandra Pruitt and Jeff Saxe; five grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; his sister – Carol Bonn, Holcombe; and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife – June; two daughters; brother – Don; three sisters – Verna, Agnes and Iva.

Private military services will be held at a later date at the Memorial Garden Military section in Milwaukee.
