Wood, Thomas J. (9 JUL 1946 - 21 DEC 2017)

Thomas J. Wood, 71, of Fond du Lac, died on Thursday, Dec. 21, 2017, at Woodlands Senior Park.

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Tom’s life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to Generations Hospice in Tom’s name.

He was born on July 9, 1946, in Fond du Lac, the son of Leonard and E. Marion (Bostwick) Wood. On August 13, 1993, he married Laura Scharrschmidt, in Fond du Lac.

Thomas was a tool sharpener at Mercury Marine for over 30 years. He was the past president of The Gratitude Club and a member of Fifth Chapter Motorcycle Group. He enjoyed shooting pool, riding his Harley, listening to the Blues and Thomas loved watching his grandchildren fish. He lived to make his wife happy.

He is survived by his wife, Laura Wood of Fond du Lac; four step-sons: Derek (Stephanie) Rohlfs, Jason (Colleen) Rohlfs, Mike (special friend Crystal) Rohlfs and Jeff (Lisa) Rohlfs; nine grandchildren; his sister, Peggy (Mike) Loewer; mother-in-law, Ursula Scharrschmidt; sister-in-law, Jini (John) Diamond; brother-in-law, Craig (Maggie) Scharrschmidt; sister-in-law, Christine Scharrschmidt; nieces and nephews: Aaron (Virginia) Loewer and Adam (Leah) Loewer; his great nephew, Oliver Loewer and his friends and neighbors.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Robert; his father-in-law, William Scharrschmidt and a brother-in-law, Paul Scharrschmidt.
