Hanley, William (9 JUL 1886 – 19 NOV 1970)
William L. Hanley, 84, 518 Madison Street, Stanley, died Thursday afternoon at
Victory Memorial Hospital. Mr. Hanley was born July 9, 1886 at Porters Mills,
moved to Stanley 70 years ago and operated a coal and dray line service there.
He lived in Milwaukee from 1941 until 1945, but returned to Stanley, where he
was poste master until he retired in 1960. He married Henryetta LaBelle, October
20, 1909, at Stanley.
Surviving are: his wife; one son, James of Stanley; four daughters, Miss Mary
Hanley, Milwaukee, Mrs. Elizabeth Brandsness, Marshfield, Mrs. Petronella Solie,
Portland, Oregon, and Mrs. Lawrence McKale, Milwaukee; 9 grandchildren, and 11
great-grandchildren.
