Kurtzweg, Clifford Roland (18 June 1908 – 11 September 1974)
Funeral services were held in Seattle, Wash.., for a former Neillsville area
man, Clifford Roland Kurtzweg, who died September 11, about a week after
undergoing major surgery.
Clifford R. Kurtzweg was born June 18, 1908, in Westboro, and in 1915, moved
with his family to a farm at Neillsville, where he grew up, and attended school.
His marriage to the former Eleanor D. Gruhlke took place December 28, 1937, in
Waukon, Ia. In 1946, the family moved to a small farm at Fairchild, where they
lived until moving to Billings, Mt., in 1950. There, he was employed as a heavy
equipment operator until he suffered a heart attack in 1958, and worked
thereafter as a sign foreman for the Yellowstone County Traffic Department. In
July of 1973 he retired, and the couple moved to Seattle to be near their sons.
Since that time, they have managed an apartment building.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two sons, Clifford and Jerry, both
of Seattle; and a sister, Ruth Andrews of Seward, Ak.
Burial was in Evergreen Washelli Cemetery.
